Alex graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2010 with a First Class degree in History. He embarked on a legal career and was awarded the Prince of Wales Scholarship by Gray's Inn. Alex completed the Bar Professional Training Course, and was subsequently offered pupillage.
However, he switched focus to accountancy in 2012. During his studies he was awarded the Chris Reay Memorial Award by the London Society of Chartered Accountants. As a Chartered Accountant, Alex specialises in advising barristers and legal professionals, along with small limited companies within a diverse range of industries.
Alex writes about tax and accountancy here and in a personal capacity, about business, personal finance and lifestyle design here. He is a strong advocate of cloud accounting software and a certified Xero adviser.
In 2018, Mark Lee, a leading commentator and advisor to the accounting industry, named Alex as a "stand out" accountant, citing his "focused ambition, commitment to constant personal development and his evident client-focused approach".
